Prediction of Antibody-Binding Epitopes on Antigens
Epitope mapping of complex target antigens is often challenging because of the difficulty in expressing and purifying these antigens. We have developed a novel method to predict antibody-binding epitopes on antigens. Our method has been published, see also our list of publications here.
Our method is based on our FBM approach which identifies optimal locations of small chemical functional groups on the surfaces of the antibody and the identification of sequence patterns of peptides that can bind to the surface of the antibody. The identified sequence patterns are then used to search the amino-acid sequence of the antigen protein. Our method has been validated using existing X-ray crystal structures of antibody-antigen complexes and other projects.
Our prediction method is helping our clients to accelerate e.g. the development of new vaccines.
